they're here...

Remember how I said I was pretty sure Tate was getting his canines first? (Or excuse me... eye-teeth, for those who think I'm referring to my doberman when I use the word canine)... you know who you are... ;)

I was sure I was going to have a baby vampire. We could see the whites of his canines swelling right underneath the gums. His doctor even verified this at his 4-month appointment. She was sure the only swelling in his gums was occurring by his canines. She checked the bottom gums. No teething going on there. None at all. She was sure. Just the canine region.

So, about 2 weeks ago, just a few days after turning 5 months old, (I know, I know... I'm late to post this...) after a long and sleepless night with my sweet baby, I was feeling around by his canines to see if they had popped through yet... and he BIT me. With TEETH! Where in the world did that come from? I wondered. Then I saw it. The sharp little sprouting of his first tooth.

And right where it should be.

I took this picture Monday. You can't see it that great here, but his second tooth popped through Sunday night, right beside the first one.

So there go my visions of my vampire baby. I was so looking forward to dressing him up with a black cape and painting his face white. *sigh*

Actually, I was excited for his canines to come in first because it would allow me to nurse longer. My babies are "munchers." At least that's the word the lactation consultant used with Millie. And Tate's even more vigorous. Fun. Even more fun with teeth. *bigger sigh* I think I'll be okay until the front top ones come in though. So I really am hoping those canines will push through first now!

He is so stinkin' cute though.
I could just eat him up.

And now I'll leave you with a video that you may find a little creepy. I think Tate did. To give you a little background... it started out with the girls saying "Peek-a-boo" in funny voices and Tate laughing hysterically. By the time I got the camera out, it had started to get a little weird. You'll see what I mean...

Welcome to life with 2 older sisters.

I'm not laughing AT you.....but that would've been funny! I have never seen such a thing, and he's so cute that it wouldn't have even mattered :)

Hmm... is it perhaps halloween at your house? Sounds like you have some "ghosts" singing or something?! :) jk Very cute. And you're right... Tate is super cute, too!! I love his little toofers!!
I must admit, though... I think that you're hoping that he gets his eye teeth in first is a little selfish. I mean, even if he gets his top teeth in first and totally "munches" off your nursing parts, does it really matter? Isn't this your last baby, anyways??!! :) JK

Munchers -- Hah!

Your girls sound suspiciously like my own. I suppose girly girls just all have that high-pitched, repeating-into-forever voice. Tate looks like he wasn't sure whether to laugh or search for mama's security.

And by security, I mean the part of you he's about to munch off :)

Ahhh, Cutie! I bet Tate's sweet sisters are going to be using those same singy voices to tease him someday about girls! :) Good thing he loves them so much already!

"munchers" - Makes me shudder. I had to stop nursing my Noe when he was 9 months old because I don't love being munched on.
Tate is SO cute. Like perfect round baby head, big eyes, win-cutest-baby-contest cute.
Kai will be 4 months old on Sunday. He is starting to drool and chew on his hands I thought it was kind of early, but apparently Tate has the early teething thing down!
And, yes - the video was just a tad scary. In a cute way.

He's so cute :)

I totally sympathize you with the "muncher"thing -- Lily was too, I'm sure you remember me crying to you for advice last summer :)

P.S. Your blog layout makes me happy everytime I visit. It's so spring-y. :)

Such a cutie!!

Harper was a big muncher, but hasn't really been too bad with her teeth...and she got them way early also. Hopefully Tate will be nice with his too! I just can't imagine that little sweetie biting??
