a picture puzzle

Do you notice a difference in these two pictures?

Picture 1:

Picture 2:

No?  Look again.

See it?

Hmmm.... still not sure?

Let me help you out...

Picture 2 stinks.

It's desolate.  It's sad.  I'm pretty sure I can hear the trees sighing under their heavy ice-laden branches.

Yes, I will admit that up-close the branches do look pretty amazing, what with their crystal ice casings and all.  I really am amazed how God can take something so horrid (a.k.a. winter) and weave beauty through it.  For that I am thankful.

But I know I'm not the only person around here who is tired of the snow and ice storms.  I know because I've read your blogs.  I've overheard your conversations in the stores.  I've seen you slipping and falling in the parking lots (you didn't think anyone was watching, did you?).  So I say we all band together and revolt.

Yes, I said REVOLT!

How, you ask?

Hmmm..... well... I haven't really thought that far ahead yet.  Still working on that one...

I'll let you know as soon as I have a good idea.  In the meantime, maybe you can think of one for me.  I'm thinking of going into hibernation.

So, I totally get what you are saying, but that second picture - BEAUTIFUL!!! :)
In an act of desperation I revolted against winter this way: http://miraculouschaos.blogspot.com/2010/01/lengths-i-will-go-to-for-little-glimpse.html

I see the difference! It took a while, but I couldn't find Chad in the second picture - was he hiding? Sneaky husband of yours.
Mega dittos from Carlisle. This is the most depressing week of the year, did you know that? Keep your head up. Make some cookies. You can't hibernate without a full stomach.

I say we all move. Seriously. Let's pack our bags and move somewhere warm. If you think about it, it's very logical. VERY logical. Somewhere warm in the balmy south.

I'm thinking Indiana, maybe??

What were you thinkin'? :)

I know I should't say this, because as soon as I do, fate will come back to bite me in the form of snow and ice, but: today it's supposed to be 60 degrees in Missouri! P-A-R-T-Y!

Wendi - I love how you "revolted" in your blog. I might have to give that a try!

Liz - Good job noticing Chad was hiding in the second one. You're too good at this. And don't worry - I think I have enough fat piled on to live on while I hibernate.

Amy - I'm with ya. I just asked Chad the other day why we live here. Then he reminded me that my family lives here. Oh yeah. So we'll probably stay... unfortunately. Although balmy Indiana does sound very tempting! ;)

Sarah - I think I just decided where to go for our 10-year anniversary... YOUR house! Doesn't that sound splendid?! That's what you get for rubbing your warm temps in my face. I'm jealous. So very, very jealous.

Katie - I'm glad you're okay with the snow. But I'm not. Boo snow. Boo ice. Go away all. But glad you still have power! :)

Amy - Ellen still hasn't contacted me... hmmm... maybe she's too busy to read my blog. Bah. But thanks for the positive thinking! :)

Waiting anxiously for the plan to revolt! :) Why aren't missions trips planned during January? Worthy cause + warm temperatures = awesome ministry opportunity. Right?
